3 Gadgets To Improve Your Health: Larq, Lumen + Vejo

Excerpt via Forbes

Now that it seems we’ll be at home for a considerable stretch, it’s a great time to wrangle some tech to help us be healthier.

VEJO

The World’s First Smart, Portable Blender System That Delivers Doctor-Formulated Nutrition

The unassuming Vejo looks like a thermos or water bottle, but it’s actually a teeny portable blender that you can use to supercharge your intake of healthy foods. Using a system of pods packed full of freeze-dried fruits and veggies, you can instantly create one of over 20 smoothies, each with a tailored nutritional purpose.

Vejo is easy to use. You fill the container with water, peel the sticker off the top of the pod, place it upside down over the water, then screw the cap into place. The contents of the pod empty into the water and the blender kicks in, creating a perfect mix. Once it’s done, you toss the pod (they’re biodegradable) and drink.

It’s easy to charge the Vejo back up, just place the cap on the inductive charger. A recent firmware update increased the life of the battery from 5 pods to 30 – a considerable improvement.

LUMEN

Take the guesswork out of your nutrition in a single breath. Lumen is a device and app that measures your metabolism through the breath. With the app, you will receive daily personalized meal plans to help you lose weight and optimize your workouts.

Lumen wants you to do more with the food you already have in your home by shrinking giant breath analysis devices to the size of a device that could be mistaken for a vaporizer. The Lumen device uses your breath samples to determine if you’re burning carbs or fat, then makes dietary recommendations based on the results and your desired outcomes (be they fat burning, extra metabolic energy, or something else).

Before Lumen, determining what your body was burning for fuel required long tests performed by a dietician using large pieces of equipment. Merav and Michal worked with designers to shrink the device that tests your respiratory exchange ratio (RER) down to a chip. Then they worked out a specific breathing exercise so you can test the amount of CO2 in your blood with a single breath

You can order your Lumen from their site for $299

LARQ

The Larq water bottle is a state-of-the-art water bottle capable of cleaning itself and purifying the water that’s inside it. It utilizes environmentally-friendly UV-C technology to purify up to 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses when it’s set to its highest mode.

That’s right – no more musty water bottle. No more worrying if the public water fountain you filled up from has unseen nasties lurking in the spigot. Just fill up the bottle, screw the cap on, then press the button in the cap once to activate a 60-second cleaning cycle (for untrustworthy water sources, press twice to activate a 3-minute cycle). Drink as normal.

Every two hours, LARQ activates the UV-C light for a 10-second self-cleaning cycle (which may or may not prompt your kids to ask, worryingly, why your water bottle is glowing). This is to keep the bottle itself clean. It’s nice knowing that I don’t have to give the LARQ the “sniff test” before each fill up.

The LARQ’s cap is splashproof and will last for a month on a charge with regular usage. You can grab a LARQ for $95.
